March 10 – 10:30 a.m. (Lent 1)

Lil Arsenault, Marlene Silinski, members of our congregation, shared their stories and reflections as Indigenous women, along with Lil’s sister, Rev Olive Flett, a United Church minister and a musician. 


March 17 – 10:30 a.m. (Lent 2)

The Very Rev Dr. Stanley McKay, Cree Elder and member of Fisher River First Nation and former Moderator of the United Church of Canada will reflect with us on the meaning of Lent in relation to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Calls to Action, 10:30-2:00, including lunch.


March 24 – 10:30 a.m. (Lent 3)

Rev. Melody McKellar, an Indigenous Elder and Diaconal Minister who works at the Milner Ridge Correctional Facility, will be our guest. She will invite us to explore aspects of Indigenous spirituality.


March 30 – 7:30 p.m.

“An Evening of Story & Song” with singer/song-writer Don Amero.  Don has won numerous national & international awards including “Aboriginal Peoples Choice”, Juno nominations for “Aboriginal Album of the Year”, Native American Music Awards and Western Canadian Music Awards. No charge. Free will offering to Healing Fund of UCC.


March 31 – 10:30 a.m. (Lent 4)

Resource people from Kairos will lead us through the “Blanket Exercise”, a two-hour journey through 400 years of history in this land. Our time will conclude with lunch.


April 7 – 10:30 a.m. (Lent 5)

Adrian Jacobs, a member of the Turtle Clan, Cayuga Nation of the Six Nations Haudenosaunee Confederacy in Ontario, will invite us to reflect on issues of Land. Adrian is Keeper of the Circle at the Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre, the United Church’s national Indigenous training centre in Beausejour.


April 14 – 10:30 a.m. (Palm Sunday)

We will learn from the experience and teachings of Elder Dave Courchene of the Turtle Lodge of Sagkeeng First Nation.


Holy Week – Tuesday, April 16th   Group visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights – “Rights and Indigenous People’s in Canada” Tour at 11:00 a.m. Leave Steinbach at 9:30 a.m. Please gather at the church by 9:15 and we will car pool. Sign up at the church/ office.

Adults – $21; Seniors – $17; Youth -$11 (Less 15% with a group of 20 or more)



April 19 – 7 p.m. (Good Friday)     Evening Service
