Beyond Our Walls Worship Service – with Rev. Simba & United in Spirit Outreach Team

We gather today to pause, to learn, to sing and to praise together. Everyone belongs. As a community of faith, we are called to seek justice, to resist evil and to live with respect in creation.

Today we look at the work of the Clan Mothers. Clan Mothers Healing Village and Knowledge Centre has been developed using an Indigenous model of healing and education that is focused on restoring our communities using the matrilineal values that guided our original self-governance systems.

With over twenty years’ experience working in our communities, helping sexually abused women and youth, the Elders realized that the problem was growing, and more importantly, something more had to be done. What has been created has been guided by an Elders Council, Lived Experience Leaders, and a concerned community.

Clan Mothers Healing Village and Knowledge Centre will provide mid to long-term support to women, girls, two-spirit and transgender persons who have been victims of multi-generational trauma, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking; to help them begin their healing journey.
