This service has two components. The first is the celebration of the Sacrament of Communion, and the second is the whole journey that Jesus traveled on the day he was crucified, called the Stations of the Cross.
On this day, we remember the most significant figure of our faith, whose journey shaped and reshaped the world. The name Jesus, the incarnate face of your presence. The visible evidence of your love. One who emptied himself of the divinity and glory, to be presence, born and lived among humanity. The one who suffered human injustice, brutality and shame. One who lived by compassion, who served and stood for justice. One who demanded freedom, fed the hungry, defended the poor and sat with outcasts and the rejected. May this story of his death inspire us to follow him by imitating what he did and what he stood for.
