We recall the story of Jesus’ birth, with Mary and Joseph travelling to Bethlehem to be counted in the census. Both had agreed that they would do what was asked of them. The angels are also part of this story, Having visited shepherds to tell them not to fear. The shepherds excitedly made their way to Bethlehem where they paid homage to this special child, Jesus. The child, born on this special night Jesus, who came into the world as the Prince of Peace. Our Advent journey included such a variety of people A young pregnant teenager with an older man ready to support her. An aunt, ready to become a mother to a babe who prepared a way for Jesus. A religious leader struck dumb, who later understood God’s way Older, wise prophets who lived to see a child come to bring light to the world. May all our lights of inclusion bring light to the world.
