Rest, Creation & Remembering
This Sunday, we reflected on the gift of rest through the story of creation in Genesis 2. Rest is more than simply stopping work—it is an invitation to pause, renew, reconnect, and remember that not everything depends on us.
As we explored Sabbath, we considered rest as a holy and spiritual practice, and what Creation and Indigenous teachings can remind us about balance, reciprocity, stewardship, and our relationship with the land.
We also marked Orange Shirt Sunday, taking time to remember and honour Indigenous children who were taken from their families and communities to residential institutions, and to reflect on the ongoing journey of truth, reconciliation, and healing.
